Elstow CC is a growing, community cricket club
in Elstow, a beatiful village just south of Bedford.
We are already on the lookout for new players, both senior
and junior, for next season. If you are interested in playing, or would simply like some more information, please email elstowcricketclub@hotmail.co.uk
or visit our club website, www.elstowcc.co.uk.
We have two senior Saturday sides, which play in the Morrant Four
Counties League, with the first XI gaining promotion to Division One in 2008 and finishing 6th in 2009.
The Club
also has a very successful Midweek XI, playing in the Bedford Midweek Leauge and several cup competitions, plus an indoor
side competing in the Bedfordshire Indoor League during winter.
The Youth set up has flourished since its inception
in 2007, growing from a squad of 18 in 2007 to over 40 in 2009, with an Under 10 team and an Under 12 team both playing in
the Bedfordshire Youth League. In 2010 we hope to field three junior teams, adding an Under 14 team to our roster. So if you
are interested in playing then please get in touch.

A Brief History of ECC
Elstow Cricket Club, as we know it, was formed in 1946 in the immediate
aftermath of World War II. A small village club for several decades, it is only since the turn of the century that Elstow
CC has risen to prominence. The club played only friendly cricket up until 1971, before entering the Bedford and District
League, where they stayed until winning the Premier Division in 1999. For the 2000 season, fresh pastures were sought in the
Millman Leagues, and after seven mostly successful seasons the club moved to the Morrant Four Counties Cricket League,
where both the first and second teams won their leagues in their first season.
Former Elstow schoolboy
turned first class cricketer and now Somerset CCC vice chairman, Andy Curtis, has written an insightful article into
the club's early years. Please click below to read:
