To
experience playing cricket in a country other than that of our historical, rain-besieged island is, for most English cricketers,
a bit of a fantasy. Sure, some of the bigger, richer or more organised clubs go on tours abroad. But to actually experience
a season (or half, in my case) in the ranks of a foreign club in their bid for glory is usually reserved only for the professionals
or young hopefuls. So whilst planning ‘going travelling’ down under, I thought it criminal not to take the opportunity
to experience cricket in the convicts’ back yard…
